SMEI has an in-house core group of detailers utilising Tekla 2022 software and with 5 workstations SMEI give the client the peace of mind that the turnaround time for this function of the fabrication process is optimised. SMEI’s state of the art facility with the Peddimat tandem Saw/Drill Line consisting of a Peddinghaus 1000/9 Drill Line Machine and MEBA Topline 1020 Bandsaw is capable of producing in excess of 200 tons per 40 hour work.
Saw measurement is done via the Peddinghaus Accumeasure Roller Feed measurement system. The Accumeasure allows for complete handling versatility, while maintaining a streamlined CNC solution. Splitting apart a drill and a saw allows neither machine to wait for the other, maximizing production.
SignoMat part stamping is the high-speed part marking and will hold up to 36 characters, letters or numbers. These characters are stamped up to a depth of 8 mm and at multiple heights of 6 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm and 19 mm.
The undercover workshop area has 1 x 15 ton and 6 x 10 ton overhead cranes, servicing the 4 workshop bays. The workshop laydown area has 2 Liebherr 32TT self-erecting tower cranes, 3 dedicated mobile cranes, 2 Heavy Duty Forklifts and 4 telehandlers.
The workshop has the capacity and capability to undertake Modular Structures fabrication and assembly either under cover or in the laydown yard area.

Allowing us to seamlessly provide live progress updates to our valued clients from detailing to installation.

SMEI Projects has its own fleet of delivery vehicles to deliver fabricated products both locally and cross border. With a large internal fleet, SMEI has greater control over the delivery process. Deliveries can be scheduled more efficiently, and in alignment with all client schedule requirements.
